COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AT BAYSIDE LODGE

At Bayside Lodge we have responded to the current Covid-19 situation by taking the following responsible measures to keep our guests safe without limiting the enjoyment of your stay.

We hope you will co-operate with us ensuring the best possible experience in a safe environment!

Guests attend this establishment at their own risk. The proprietor, its agent, and/or its employees shall not be liable for, and the guests hereby waive/s and abandon/s any claims of whatever nature including but not limited to that for theft, injury, loss or damage of whatever nature against the proprietor, whether arising from the proprietor’s default, negligence or otherwise. The guest/s, in addition to the aforesaid, hereby indemnity the proprietor against any claims which may arise from whatever nature, whether arising from the proprietor’s default negligence or otherwise.

In the event of premature departure, the full extent of the stay as originally booked and confirm will be charged. Refunds and waiver of cancellation policies are at the discretion of management and the ability to re-sell the rooms.

Guests will be required to observe Covid-19 protocols.

There is an infra-red hand sanitizer in the reception area and ask that you wear a mask when you are around the lodge common areas and observe the usual social distancing protocols.

Your suite will have been cleaned and sanitized to the highest standard with extra care and attention being taken to disinfect all points of frequent contact such as door handles, remote controls, light switches etc. Pump action amenity bottles in your bathroom will always be disinfected after each check out and we provide alcohol based hygiene wipes in all bathrooms. You will be consulted as to whether you would like a daily room cleaning service and how often you would like towels and bed linen changed.

The following high contact areas will be cleaned and disinfected regularly throughout the day or after every use in some cases:  Doorknobs – Table surfaces – Hard dining chairs (seat, back, and arms) – Kitchen counters – Public bathroom counters – Faucets and faucet knobs – Toilets (seat and handle) – Light switches – Handrails – TV remote controls. All our crockery and cutlery is cleaned at the highest temperature in our dishwasher.   Each guest’s laundry will be washed separately in our industrial machine.

As per T.B.C.S.A. (Tourism Business Council of South Africa) protocols, our staff will wear masks, visors, plastic aprons and disposable gloves. We will all participate in our responsible and thorough hand washing protocol throughout the day.   At reception we provide complimentary surgical masks, an infra-red thermometer and an oximeter – if you develop symptoms during you stay please consult with us so we can refer you to a Doctor.

Breakfast will be served in the restaurant or on the patio (weather permitting) and we will take your order from a menu. Your selected items will be served to you at your table.  Alternatively we offer a substantial (cold) packed breakfast. The buffet service we previously offered will not be available at this time. The tables in the restaurant areas have been distanced according to the recommended norm with the same table being used by guests every day.

We recommend that you bring your own water bottle and we will happily refill it for you from our reverse osmosis system. We have removed the room folders that could previously be found in your suites – this as well as the breakfast menu and area map are available digitally via QR codes or disposable printed sheets.

We ask that you pay for your stay and additional services by credit card or EFT as we are committed to reducing the cash that we handle as much as possible. We will communicate with you during breakfast and then via SMS or Whats App.  We will send you a secure 3D link and our banking details prior to check out.  Staff gratuities can be added to these accounts if you prefer not to handle cash and use the tip box at reception.
