FOUR STAR GRADING
Bayside Lodge is ready for the busy season having re-newed it’s Tourism Grading Council of South Africa’s four star grading. Other inspections and certification include Health Certificcate, Fire Safety Certificate and Labour certificate. Caroline Edge conducts our annual inspection for the star grading and she was very happy with how the lodge is looking. The painting and varnishing and certainly spruced things up and with it being spring the garden is looking gorgeous. Our next goal with the T.G.S.A.star grading certification is to apply for some accolades including an eco-friendly status.
People often wonder whether this process is worthwhile and we are geateful to the T.G.S.A. for offering us a 80% discount on the renewal fee after producing documents such as atax clearance certificate and information regarding our B.E.E. status. It is interesting to note that online platforms such a booking.com and Expedia do offer star grading categories as a filter for prospective guests searching for accommodation on line.
Plettenberg Bay has had a very quiet winter but the bookings going forward are excellent. We still have some rooms available over Christmas and new year. We are already booking restaurants for this incredibly busy time and suggest guests book activities as well.
