All sorts of activities have been taking place in recognition of the end of winter!
After snow on our mountains recently and temperatures plummeting our guests were very happy to have electric blankets, under-carpet heating, electric hot water bottles in their suites as well as fireplaces in the breakfast room and guest sitting room.
We are thrilled to read that dams levels have risen to over 65% around Cape Town and we look forward to water restrictions being eased as we are sure that is affecting people’s travel decisions. Plett does have water restrictions in terms of how often we can water our gardens.

This last weekend saw a sandcastle competition on Central beach as well as the sunrise dip in the ocean which takes place every 1st of the month. The picture below is of “vygies” outside our lodge which open during the day and close at night.
Guests chuckle at the various jackets our rescue daschunds Daisy and Champ wear during winter. We have fenced the parking area so that guests don’t have to worry about the dogs when they open the electric gate.
