Great news about another festival in Plett – this time History!
The Bitou Municipality Department of Economic Development and the Watercourse Media & Development Company is please to announce the first WATERCOURSE HISTORY FEST IN PLETT, which will be launching on Thursday 13 through to Saturday 15 February 2020.

09h00: Inaugural Lecture and Presentation by Professor Sarah Wurz on Klasies River and Early Modern Humans
11h30: Joane Swart on Bushmen Rock Art from an Engendered Perspective
14h00: Open Debate: “Can the Evidence from Archaeology be Reconciled with Religious Faith?”
18h00; VIP Dinner
Friday 14 February
09h00: Professor Mike de Jongh on the Hessequa of the Riversdal Area
11h30: The Griqua National Council on the Authorised History of the Griqua Nation
14h00: Open Debate: “Is Toenadering Possible in the Face of Race, Class, and Language Differences?”
18h00: “75 Years of Romance at the Old Nick”, including a night market, live music, and the giant screening of Casablanca.
Saturday 15 February
09h00: Multimedia Festival at various homes, clubs, and pubs throughout the Bitou Municpality: Popular History, Community History, Family History, Biographies, and Memoirs all over town, including two appearances from former editor of Getaway magazine, David Bristow, as well as international best-selling author, Graham Hancock.
