As usual on Christmas morning our ladies chose a Bayside breakfast for themselves before the guests arrived. This year they enjoyed Eggs Benedict with our dogs Champ and Daisy looking on hungrily in their festive hats. Our Danish, Austrian and German guests were offered sparkling wine, mince pies as well as gifts of chocolate, shells and wine. The weather was gorgeous and just perfect for the beach.
Plett is a hive of activity at this time of the year with thousands of South Africans coming to their holiday homes for the festive season. The shops open at 5am and we hear the queues are long but the atmosphere jovial. We are thrilled to hear that fireworks are a thing of the past and this year for the first time we can enjoy a lazer show at Central Beach at midnight on 31 December.

A laser light display will replace fireworks on Central Beach this yearIn the interests of fire safety and the welfare of animals and pets, Plett will be breaking new ground this New Year’s Eve with a laser light display at midnight on Central Beach instead of the fireworks display that visitors and residents have been used to in previous years.
Visitors and residents are advised that it is illegal to discharge fireworks in Plettenberg Bay at any time and we have been advised that there will be no public display of fireworks by the municipality or any other organisation on New Year’s Eve 2019/2020.
